Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

  • Assist and support the Human Resources Director handling and resolving employee matters
  • Ensuring correct implementation of payroll and benefits administration
  • As a member of the Human Resources organization, will contribute a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for the property.
  • Assist and support talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner.
  • Will generally work with considerable independence, and will assist the Human Resources Director in developing processes to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Champion the communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, policies, etc.
  • Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures

General Human Resources 

  • Responsible for all Human Resources administration
  • Monitor effective use of mHUB by property managers and employees.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Respond to questions, requests and concerns from employees and management regarding company and Human Resources programs, policies and guidelines
  • Speak with staff using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents

Staffing and Recruitment Process

  • Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues
  • Coordinate and conduct reference checks, social security number verification and other hiring policies.
  • Serve as coach and expert facilitator of the selection and interviewing process.
  • Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local laws and company policies and standards
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files
  • Create and maintain filing systems
  • Train new hires on HR processes, programs, policies , information systems etc

Payroll activities

  • Be the interface between Cardo hotel and the social secretariat with regard to payroll, social legislation, holiday pay,, eco-cheques, etc
  • Remain current and knowledgeable in the internal and external compensation and competitive work environments.

Social Activities/Engagement

  • Organise regular recognition events (celebration of birthdays, staff party, etc)
  • Administer the annual Engagement Survey as per Marriott policy

Training & Development 

  • Supports the property training plan to ensure the delivery of new hire orientation, service training and Marriott related training by using the D+L tool on MGS (Marriott Global System)
  • Helps to ensure all training and development activities (department specific and general property training) are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Identifies performance gaps and works with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to improve performance.

  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Candidate profile 

  • Education and Experience
  • Minimum 2-years experience in similar role in comparable property with sizeable rooms and meeting spaces.  

Preferred:

  • Has demonstrated the ability to always work on behalf of Guests
  • Has demonstrated the ability to work with other Team Members
  • Successful track record of working in a collaborative/matrixed environment
