8 tips to optimise your Linkedin profile (and be seen by recruiters)

In recent years, the social network LinkedIn has become an established part of the web for job searches. While LinkedIn is relatively easy to use, there are certain criteria that should not be overlooked in order to attract the attention of recruiters 👁️🗨️.

As a recruitment partner, Hospitality Jobs reveals these 8 tips for a great LinkedIn profile! 🔝🔎

✔️Photo profile
We strongly recommend that you add a profile picture and choose it carefully. Avoid holiday photos or selfies if possible, you need to keep in mind that LinkedIn is your professional showcase.

✔️ Banner
Some people prefer to leave their cover photo (banner) blank and others choose a photo related to their field of work, chosen study or developed skills. We also recommend adding one for better visibility.

✔️ Professional status
The professional status, also known as the profile title, is the small box below your photo. These few words allow you to identify yourself, such as the position you hold or a specific qualification that sets you apart from others.

✔️ Profile summary
Even if you are not a big fan of writing, don’t neglect this step! This is where you introduce yourself in a few lines, describe your industry and attract potential visitors!

✔️Expériences
As with a CV, experience and education are essential elements to display on your profile. Be clear and precise without giving too much detail, recruiters need to dive into the content.

✔️ Languages used
Belgium has become a multilingual country, and language skills are a serious asset. So don’t forget to mention the languages you know, and for even more precision, you can also indicate your level.

✔️Keywords
To find potential candidates, recruiters search for specific keywords in a targeted way. Don’t hesitate to look at job offers or visit LinkedIn profiles which can inspire you to optimise your references.

✔️Recommandations
A colleague, a manager, someone who has followed your professional career closely can recommend you? Take the opportunity to ask them, it only takes a few minutes and it boosts your profile!

Do you want another one? OK, but this is the last one! As we explained earlier, LinkedIn is still a social network that creates communities. So show a minimum of activity by interacting, posting interesting messages, following news…..

It’s up to you now 🎲
